The Missing Guest is a small, independent browser game. This page explains, in plain language, what happens to your information while you play.

No account, no profile

You don't sign up or log in to play. The game does not intentionally collect your name, email address, precise location, or any personal profile. Your language choice and analytics preference are stored only in your own browser (via localStorage), on your device — not on a server we run.

Analytics

Where analytics consent (and applicable law) allows it, the game uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how the game is played and to improve it — for example, how many rounds people finish, whether hints are helpful, and roughly where players come from.

This can include:

We don't ask you for personal details, and we don't try to identify who you are. That said, we can't claim this data is fully anonymous or that zero personal data is ever processed: standard web analytics inherently involves your browser and connection communicating with Google's systems, and Google Analytics processes that data under Google's own privacy policy, which governs how it is handled, retained, and safeguarded on their end.

Players in the EEA, the UK, and a small number of other regions are asked for consent before any analytics loads. Everywhere else, analytics may run by default, and you can turn it off at any time — see below.

Your choice

You can allow or turn off analytics at any time from How to play → Analytics preference. Turning it off stops analytics from loading; nothing about the game itself changes.

Advertising

The Missing Guest does not currently use any advertising or ad-tracking system.

Selling data

We do not sell your personal data, to anyone, for any reason.
